“I’ll be famous one day, but for now I’m stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons” The story of the dairy of a wimpy kid is very intriguing. It tells you everything about the movie in a nutshell. This movie which is essentially made for kids is very appealing to the psyche to grownups as well. It makes you laugh and along with it teaches you a lot about the internal mind of an average pre teen.

The movie is based on the book written by Jeff Kinney. This hugely popular book is also by the same name. It was so heartening to see that the director Thor Freudenthal didn’t change the script much and the story progresses just like in the book. The story revolves around Greg Heffley (excellently portrayed by Zachary Gordon); he is normal looking average school kid who is starting with middle school. Once he is in the class he makes a promise to himself that he will break his nerdy image and will become the most popular guy in his class, so that girls will start liking him. He lives with his family that consists of father, mother and a very insane elder brother who keeps him in check with his numerous pranks.

He also has a very close friend Rowley (another brilliant child actor Robert Capron). While Heffley likes the company of Rowley but he shies away from being seen in public with him. His reason is that Rowley is a kid who never grew up from the junior school. Though it is partly true but when it comes to Rowley, he is a kid who does not care much about the onlookers. He does things which appeal to him and always stays happy.

A major twist in the story comes when a comic made by Rowley becomes hit in the school while Heffley’s is sent to the sidelines. This leads to jealously and their friendship breaks. To show each other that they don’t need the friendship to live they make new friends and start pretending that life is good. But eventually the bubble bursts and both realize their error in ways.

The acting in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid is of the utmost quality as all the child actors do an amazing job of bringing a graphic novel alive on screen. Especially Zachary Gordon, he does a marvelous job of portraying the emotions and complex mind of Heffley. He emote the ideas in his head with precision hence as a result the viewers can laugh their heart out.

A Kiss at Midnight tells us a simple story of the triumph of true lovers in the times of adversity. It tells us to believe in the power of love, like people have been doing since lost past. The movie has its moments but it is more of a romantic movie than a romantic comedy. You yourself can guess the story. Two people who are made for each other, they finally meet, love seems to be in the air, then something catastrophic happens and then the mending of heart begins.

It is obvious that human calculations can’t beat technology hence Susan starts loosing clients to Sherman, to put an end to this situation Susan makes a profile in Sherman’s agency, so that she can expose the agency.

The computer works and works till it gives the inevitable result. Josh and Susan are meant to be together. They meet a few times to decide if it is actually true or not. And it is indeed true. Both of them have the same choices and dislikes; it seems a pair made in heaven until their respective professions are disclosed. All hell breaks loose since they are arch rivals, and then begins the story of mending relationships. Where the daughters of Josh play a key role and finally they bring back the couple together.

The movie gets full marks on acting. With Faith Ford and Cameron Daddo the chemistry is perfect. They both have natural flair for the comedy and together they lit up the screen. It is impossible to think that how the movie would have fared without these two together. Not to forget the daughters, Jadin Gould and Abigail Mavity look adorable together and carry off the required work with utmost sincerely and perfection.

It is true that there is nothing new in the story but the handling of the story is immaculate that in the end you start weeping from the heart that everything has turned perfectly the way it should have turned into. It’s high time that people understand that making movies is a serious business. When people with no talent attempt to produce movies what we get is a product like Grave Mistake. It’s half baked, under directed, badly produced and where there any actors? , All its visible are some zombies with their eyes popping out and making funny noises that could only scare kids who have not even learned to walk , and sadly this movie is not meant for them.

Grave Mistake attempts to scare and fails badly in the process and the outcome is very amusing. The camera work is the biggest culprit of them all. The night sequences are so badly filmed that it looks like an amateur home video. While the day shooting has is white that it’s hard to decide if these guys were using earth or some other planet for their location.

The plot is very hard to understand but whatever I could decipher, it goes on like this there is some demented guy who angers a dead girl’s soul by disrespecting it. As a result a virus is born and that makes the entire dead rise from their graves (How?). Since all of them are up, they head for the city in search of human flesh.

At the outskirts of the city, a lady is getting her car repaired and watching the T V. there she gets to know about the happening and decides to run. While the mechanic there also has the same plan and he suggests that they should head to the military base where they can fend off the zombies better. But before they can put their car in overdrive the place gets over run by the living dead. This sight should have been scary but all we get is some more laughs as the living kill the zombies with so ease that it seems to be their daily exercise.

Some kid’s (director’s son) father insulted a grave of the girl and that created the virus that is destroying everything. So that kid now has to save everybody. How will he save them? Well for once he is the director’s kid, so he can do anything. And yeah his mom is stuck somewhere in the city amidst the zombies so he will have to come with a plan and that too should be quick.

As I said there were no actors in the movie. But there were some people, all living and were trying to look like the characters in the movie. Their range of expression was from worst to a higher superlative if possible. Not much can be said about the special effects as well. They were mediocre and the end result as disgusting to say the least.

The review may have stretched a little too much. But I can give you only one advice and that is to stay away from this movie. Please go to watch only if you wish to be tortured.

All these scenes inside prison is very humorous and makes everyone laugh loud for long time.

Glenn Ficarra and John Requa directed the movie fabulously, entertaining people to extreme extent. The characterization was perfect and screenplay excellent.
