Reading Will Help To Open Every Child’s Mind To All Possibilities

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Reading is so fundamental to the success of anyone, that every child should learn the habit as much as they learn the habit of brushing their teeth. This opens their mind to all kinds of possibilities that cannot be found anywhere else.

As you guide them into developing these good habits, remember that you will need two things that will make it a success. Time and patience. This is fundamental if you are going to get your kid to love to read.

New readers will encounter the frustration of trying to learn how to put letters together into words. Not only that, but it takes a lot of practice to get the pronunciation down as well, so be ready to be a constant source of encouragement for them.

When you are introducing them to reading, pick books that are geared for children. The ones with nice and colorful drawings along with large type helps them to stay focused as well as speeding up the learning process.

Remember not to rush your child either, and let them learn at their own pace. It would be completely counterproductive if you give them a high school science book to read when they are only in first grade.

Remember that children need breaks too, and try not to overdo it. They will have a better chance of loving to read if they can grow at a steady pace without it becoming a chore that they will hate.

Also, try to limit their new vocabulary to a few words a day and that way they will retain more of them over time.

Remember to also guide them through the process. Don’t be afraid to read along with them, and always be encouraging as they stumble through words and sentences. Being patient and gentle now will make them better and more confident readers as well as developing the skills they will need in other areas as well.

Your child can very easily develop a good reading lifestyle if you give them the right tools they need to learn. These are patients and fostering a positive and drama free environment for them to grow in. They will benefit more from your gentle guidance, and the results will be obvious when things start to make sense to them.

Blonde Joke Book Is Good Clean Fun

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Many people enjoying hearing a good joke. It could be difficult finding ones which are funny and which can be repeated to anyone. This jokes book is a variety of blonde jokes that do not contain explicit words and scenarios.

I’ll admit it. I have no problem with sexual connotations or swear words. But that is not the case with everyone. So it is nice to find some jokes you can use no matter who you are talking to.

Maybe I’m just showing my age but it gets tiring as well to hear jokes where the person obviously thought that putting in a swear word over and over is sufficient to make it funny. It’s not. Without any real attempt at humor, it’s just plain boring.

The jokes in this book are cute, they’re amusing and light-hearted. Yes, it’s poking fun at blondes. But it does so in a light way that doesn’t feel mean-spirited. Just very good, clean jokes that are funny. Yes, they really do still exist. At least here they do.

Generally, I am pretty cynical when I go to read a joke. Given a lot of them, I just figure I’m not going to laugh. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself even laughing out loud so much that people nearby had to know what it was that was so funny.

Most blonde jokes feature women. I realized this because some of the ones here have blonde men. I had to read these twice as I assumed they were about females and then they didn’t make sense.

If you are searching for jokes that are sexually oriented or full of adult humor, this is simply not the book for you. But if you’d like good clean jokes that are just plain funny, I can definitely recommend it. It’s nice to find something you can share with everyone.

An Article About The History Of The Guinness Book Of Records And Its Reputation Around The World

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

One of the most popular books that come out every year is the Guinness book of records. This is now more commonly known as the Guinness world records. This popular book chronicles things such as the best and worst or the longest and shortest or many other recordable facts from throughout the world.

Norris and Ross McWhirter are accredited with the role of publishing the first ever Guinness book of records in Great Britain way back in 1955. It seems strange that the book was published by two Irish Journalist twins and not many people realize that it was also commissioned by a large Irish brewery. The Guinness brewery in Ireland is responsible for the commissioning of this famous book.

Initially it was produced as a way to settle bar bets in the early fifties. By producing a book with their name on it the Guinness Company thought it might be a good way to further promote the Guinness brand.

It was originally inspired by one such argument but on a shooting party instead of in a bar. Back in May 1951 Sir Hugh Beaver and one of his compatriots on the shooting party were disagreeing about the fastest bird in Europe. They could not decide whether I was the Grouse or in fact the Koshin Golden Plover.

Sir Hugh thought that he would find the answer in his reference books that night in his Home at Castlebridge House. It turned out though that his reference books were not all that forthcoming with the information that he required.

That got him thinking about the possibility of making a book that you could easily find the answer to such questions.

The Guinness book of records uncannily is also in the Guinness book of records for being the best selling copyrighted series book in the world. That is because it has literally sold millions of copies since its inception in 1955.

One unenviable record that this book holds is that it is book most likely to be stolen from public libraries in the United States.

Finding The Right Joke Book

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

If you wish to be funnier, if you’re working on telling better jokes, and telling them better, if you like to keep a nice database of good riffs in your head for the following party, you might want to choose joke book or two. Whether you’re a writer, a painter or just a guy who wants to tell some good jokes now and then, it can never hurt to study the classics. You might want to consider studying the following.

The Classic Comedians

The greats, the Rodney Dangerfields, the Don Rickles, have released some really excellent work in the humor literature market. These books are as good a place to begin as any. Even outside the joke books, you have great non-fiction like How to Tell Dirty Jokes and Influence People by the heavyweight Lennie Bruce. Anything written by Steven Wright is an instant classic as well.

Niche Joke Books

The goal here is to discover those diamonds in the rough. Most joke books are three hundred recycled yuks that were barely funny the first time you heard them, but there are several good niche joke books out there. 100% Blond Jokes is like an encyclopedia of jokes you could rephrase and use to have a laugh at the expense of the foolish men and women in your life!

Stand Up DVDs

This can be helpful for studying delivery. The golden rule is that: The joke is is what’s funny, not you. A bad comic can ruin a good joke, but it’s the rare comic who can save a bad one. Check out some of the works of Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby for some excellent delivery. Mitch Hedberg is another one who has mastered delivery and can take full advantage of some pretty corny (but still quite funny) material. It’s all in the delivery, so study up.

Comic Books From Around The World

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

There are an unlimited number of comic books since their inception. When somebody thinks about comic books, they think of comics and their heroes in their country. However, comic books do not always come from the United States. The overwhelming majority of the world has comic books. The European Union houses copious amounts of comic books. France, British, Italy are simply some of the different nations that have these book publishers.

The British comic books aren’t as nicely know as their American counterpart. One of the well known comic books that hailed from Britain was the Judge Dredd collection brought to life by Sylvester Stallone. Though it came from a comic book character from Britain, most individuals did not know it originated from there. Marvel comics opened up an office in Britain in 1972. DC and Darkish Horse comics did not open up offices there until the 1990’s. It seems the English enjoy our comic book heroes as well as we do.

Italian comic books are strongly influenced by different countries. Not like America, where per week you will discover a new version, Italian comic books come out monthly and are often longer in length. The Italian comic book publishers immensely enjoy Walt Disney characters. They are the largest manufacturers of Walt Disney figures, aside from the United States.

The Japanese also love comic books. In Japan, they are referred to as Magna. They are known for their exaggerated facial features, which were inspired by American authors. Japan had requested help from comic book artists from America to go over to learn contours, shapes and colors to help revise their comic books. The result was the exponential growth of comic books.

It appears that America has a big influence of comic books from around the world. The result implies that everyone, no matter where you reside, wants a form of pictorial entertainment. The pursuit of amusement with a glossy cover, colored pages depicting figures that face immeasurable odds, only enhance the benefit of reading comic books. The world needs a release, and through the sequential formats they provide, there will be a never ending deluge of comic books to read. America is not alone in its need to escape and absorb into a fantasy based comic book.
